A259 Rye to Brenzett emergency barrier repairs – Friday 12 August 2022
Brookland Parish Council
Following the collision on the A259 east of Rye last night, there are temporary traffic lights in place between the A268 (Rye) and A2070 (Brenzett) close to the junction with Hook Wall junction at Romney Marsh (Woolpack Inn junction), while we carry out the complex recovery and clean up.
To allow us to complete essential repairs on the safety barriers, and remove the traffic lights, we’ll be fully closing the A259 between East Guldeford and the A2070 tonight (Friday 12 August), from 8pm till 6am.
A diversion will be in place in both directions via B2075 (Romney Road), Lydd High Street, Jury’s Gap Road, Lydd Road, New Lydd Road and Camber Road.
For properties with direct access off the A259, an escort will be provided to a suitable point. If your property is west of the junction with Hook Wall (Woolpack Inn junction) please approach from Rye. For properties east of Beckett Road, please approach from Brenzett. This escort is for access only.
Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles on blue light calls.
We’ll be working through the night, and there will be some additional noise, please accept our apologies in advance for any inconvenience or delays this may cause.
